Update
Published by Deanna Hoak September 8th, 2004 in blogI’m back from my Boston evacuation. I had a lovely time at WorldCon despite having both the kids in tow. Everyone was delightful about them, really.
We were very fortunate in the storm. We lost some trees and had some damage to the roof and fence, but the interior of the house is unscathed. Now we’re just keeping our eye on Ivan. :-)
Thank you all for your thoughts!

I am so glad to hear that things are okay there. We were so worried when they were talking about the damage to the area. I hope things continue to look up for you. And…WELCOME BACK!
Awww—I missed you in Boston. I really wanted to introduce myself. I hope you don’t mind that I’ve “friended” you (sight unseen). Why? Wen Spencer is my best friend. She thinks you’re great. I’ll be doing more cons than usual this year (on the East Coast), so maybe we’ll meet up some other time. Brave girl, taking the kids. I’ve done it, too. :)

Thank you. I’m glad y’all’re safe, too, Steve!
Hi, Diane. I think Wen is great, too!
Of course I don’t mind you friending me. I was very flattered! I would have loved to have met you. I missed so many people with chasing after the kids this time. Perhaps another time, though.
Best,
Deanna
