Published by Deanna Hoak July 8th, 2005 in blogThis hurricane is nearing Cat 5 in intensity now, but it looks like it may miss us over here on Florida’s east coast.
Still, a few pertinent facts regarding this storm are making me long for a summer home elsewhere:
1) This is the first year since record keeping began in 1851 that there have been four named Atlantic storms this early in the season.
2) And this is the first time since 1916 that a major hurricane (Cat 3 or higher) will make U.S. landfall in July.
This does not look to be a nice year.

Wow. o_o Well, stay safe.
Happy birthday, Deanna! I hope you celebrate by missing the hurricane.
Thank you, Charlie! And yes, the storm is far away from us. We’re not even getting rain!
