Compliments alway brighten my day
Published by Deanna Hoak September 9th, 2005 in praiseChris Roberson posted an interesting article on Self Publishing, Novellas, and Series Fiction in his journal the other day and had this to say about me in response to a question on quality control:
I’ve been lucky enough to find a spectacular copy editor in the person of Deanna Hoak, who goes far beyond hunting down typos and grammatical errors, going so far as to point out structural problems with plots and scenes, errors of fact, and so on.
I always do love it when authors are happy with my work.

In 2007 I was short-listed for a World Fantasy Award for my copyediting.

Congrats! Good for you, and Doug’s comment aside, I know you do good work! *grin* Am enjoying China more and more all the time. Thanks again.
You on for brunch Sunday?
Yeah, Doug sent me an e-mail saying he was mistaken.
Can we bring kids on Sunday? None of the info is in the online calendar. If you could e-mail me with it, that would be great.
I’m sure it was good for your ego that Doug was mistaken. Your copy editing status has not been tarnished :}.
Kids are certainly welcome at SCAM events, unless it says otherwise in the calendar, which almost never happens. I know Suzanne welcomes kids. I’d love to meet yours. Hope to see you!
