And she’s off!
Published by Deanna Hoak November 2nd, 2005 in blogWell, I’m off to WFC in a few hours and am wide awake so early because I’m excited.
I have no idea of what panels I’ll take in; I’m more looking forward to visiting with friends I haven’t seen in far too long. I’ll be at the awards, though, because I’m accepting for China Miéville if he wins either of the ones he’s up for–novel or short story. (Yes, he’s amazing, up for two in the same year. And I think it’s quite likely the first time that a copyeditor would get to accept an award for an author, so keep your fingers crossed for China. ;-))
I’ll see many of you soon!

I'm a freelance copyeditor specializing in fantasy and science fiction. SF/F novels I have copyedited have been finalists for (and have sometimes won) the Hugo, Nebula, Arthur C. Clarke, Golden Spur, John W. Campbell Memorial, Quill, Locus, Philip K. Dick, British Science Fiction, British Fantasy, and World Fantasy awards. In 2007 I was short-listed for a World Fantasy Award for my copyediting.
