Personality test

Yep. I still score the same. Here’s another link to the description of INTJ (no more than 1% of the population, it says!), and here’s a test.
How do other people on my list score? I’m curious.
UPDATE: Here’s another description. I sat here reading it and nodding my head and thinking, Yeah, that is me! I [...]

The Perils of Two-Year-Olds

The sink in the kids’ bathroom wasn’t working today, so I took off the trap and discovered a two-inch bottle of lip gloss, five beads, a key chain with charms, a bottle cap, and a penny.
Yep, I guess that would do it.

Mystery objects

I hope everyone had wonderful holidays! Ours were very nice here, though Blaine apparently confided to Santa (and not to her parents) that she wanted a hair-streaking kit, and she was very disappointed not to get it. Her birthday’s in only a few weeks, though. :-)
Do any of you have the slightest idea what the [...]

*sigh*

I turned down the copyedit of a book by a very Big Name Author today (a non-SF/F one). I would love to put him on my resume, and the pay was great, but it was a rush job over the holidays. I had intentionally kept my schedule free this week so that I could spend [...]

Queries and Copyediting

I’m thinking about queries today, and the way they end up affecting the finished book. I’m given to understand, from some of the authors who request me and appreciate the habit, that I query more than the typical copyeditor. Some of it is etiquette: if the author has used the same word twice in a [...]

2005 in Review

The current meme is to post the first line or two of your first entry from each month of 2005, which serves as a review of your year:
January: I trust everyone had wonderful holidays. Ours were nice here.
February: I’m getting into this a bit late, but I’m proud to announce my part in [...]

I just finished up the final read of my copyedit for the U.S. version of ’s book The Lies of Locke Lamora.
This is a fantastic book, folks. I got so damned worried about one of his characters at one point that I had to quit working for an hour because I just couldn’t bear to [...]

Rare Photos

I found a link to a large collection of rare, Depression-era color photographs today. You can search the collection by keywords such as “family” or “children.” I really found it fascinating and thought I would share.

Fifteen Things about Books Meme

1. The author I’ve read the most of is Andre Norton. My high school library had a huge collection of her work, and I devoured every bit of it.
2. The first book I ever bought with my own money was one of Alan Dean Foster’s Flinx books.
3. I spent many long hours in junior high fantasizing that I [...]

WoWers!

I got bored of my orc shaman around level 40 and mostly quit playing. (I mean I got chain mail, my mount, and the Stormstrike spell at 40. What more could a girl want?) My brother-in-law, however, has a level 60 rogue and still wastes plenty of time on has a blast with the game.
So [...]
