Kids and horses
Published by Deanna Hoak May 17th, 2006 in kidsA friend of Blaine’s had a birthday party this past weekend where the kids got to ride a horse. Blaine had been astride one before, but it was Evan’s first time. He was hugely excited. :-)
The horse got caught right in the middle of licking its lips after a drink of water. It looks like it’s giving a big raspberry. :-)
Evan is much more excited about this than the horse is.
And a close-up of my boy, dirty face and all. I should learn how to do something other than crop and resize photos in Adobe; I’m sure I could get that dirt off with some easy trick. :-)

The pics. are great!! Blaine and Evan both look excited. And don’t you dare clean up his face! He’s looking like a real boy, excited about life, and that means being dirty!!!
I *love* the look on Evan’s face in the middle picture!
Awwww…how utterly cool. There is just nothing better than seeing a child’s face light up like that. Thanks for sharing.
Don’t–he’s ten times cuter with that wonderful expression and looking as if he’s had a great time. Scrubbed-and-ordered is for formal portraits!
Cute kid!
But where is his helmet? Bad horse place, bad!
(And I’m with Sherwood: kids are meant to have a little dirt.)
Horsies and cute kids! Those are great. Did you ride with them, too?
Nah, they just had the one horse that they led around in a circle for the kids. The kids had a great time, though. :-)
Absolutely adorable!! :)
Aw, those are great, and I’m with about cleaning the image up. He’s adorable just as he is there.
Is there something wrong with me that I can’t see this dirt you’re talking about? Do you mean the light-colored smudges on his nose and right cheek?
No, I mean the little specks on his chin. It’s not that bad. :-)
How adorable ^_^ Every child should get to ride horses. I used to go to a great summer camp that started us riding at 6 yrs.
… Competition though, I recomend less.
//egad…terminally cute feelings//
The pictures bring back good memories. He isn’t supposed to stay clean when horseback riding. He is having fun. That’s the only important part. We used to love taking our kids horseback riding for the weekend. Our youngest went on her first trail ride when she was three. If only life could be this simple all the time.
