Fitness goal!
Published by Deanna Hoak September 27th, 2006 in blogI leg-pressed twice my weight today! I have been trying forever to be able to pull that off, because I just thought that I ought to be able to do it. (Lots of you guys can do way more, I’m sure.) The weights would just never go, though, until today. I even went for twelve reps!
Meeting a goal I have to really try for is one of the best feelings in the world for me.

Woohoo! Twice your weight. So that’s–what–eighty or ninety pounds? Thptttt.
I once made a grand mistake on a legpress machine at the gym years ago. I misread the labels. On the side facing you as you sat on it, the kg were on the left and lbs on the right. On the other side, where you move the pin to change the number plates, it was the other way around. It wasn’t until I had my legs locked that I realized I was having so much trouble because that was 950 kilos. I still don’t know how I managed to let it down wiithout either launching myself or just dropping them and breaking the machine.
After that, I quit for the day.
Congrats on making your goal.
Congratulations! I’ve started strength training lately, and I’m still having so much trouble with the lower body stuff (and it doesn’t even involve pressing anything). So you have my kudos.
Steve: 240. :-P
Templar: Woo! It’s amazing what you can do when you don’t know you’re doing it, isn’t it? :-)
Shveta: It’ll build up quickly; you’ll be surprised. :-)
