Rafe: I started out editing college textbooks. I’d always loved SF/F, though, and I made the move over as soon as I could. I discussed my start in publishing in this post.

Jess: The only real way I could provide any copyedited manuscript is if I wrote something with deliberate errors and then marked it up and scanned it in. I suppose I might do that sometime when I get a chance.

A legend is a nice start, but what I really mean is a few pages of copy-edited manuscript, maybe with examples of a couple keymarks.

Jpatrick: A quick googling returns some good examples (admittedly, in black & white… your imagination can Colorize/Turnerize them, I’m sure ;-) ) – http://www.neu.edu/styleguide/appendix_b.html

Illustrious Hostess: It’s heartening to see that, despite the hideous black mark my tenure at Edit Ink represents, at least I was taught the correct way to mark up a manuscript, even though it’s improbable that I’ll find my way back into the field. How did you find your way to your current position, if you don’t mind narrating your CV? :-)
