About.com

I found out this morning that About.com has several of my articles on copyediting linked. That’s cool. I thought for a moment that maybe they had discovered my website when I sent them a correction regarding their article on Colt revolvers several months ago–they have the patent date (which was 1836) wrong by an entire century, which is a pity since their page is the top Google return for “Colt revolver.” Sadly, though, that appears not to be the case, since the article still incorrectly lists 1936 as the year in which the patent was issued. The links would be cooler if I felt the rest of the site were more accurate. :-)

12/05/06 ETA: Ah. This time the author of the Colt revolver article responded to my e-mail and fixed the typo. Very nice. :-)
