Package o’ parts, here!

Okay. I’m going to be a little leery of any unexpected packages coming to me via DHL for a while. :-)

(I never did like them anyway–I’ve gotten too many manuscript packages via their delivery that were already ripped open when received.)

Still, though, that is one of the weirder stories I’ve seen in a while. :-)

I despise DHL. I despised them back when they were Airborne Express. This incident does not in the least surprise me, though the details are quite entertaining. “This is strange, it looks like a liver.” Heh.

Yeah, I was laughing through the entire story, sadly.

“He started the second one, but stopped as soon as we saw the ear.” :-D

Rose, have you had the same problem with DHL that I’ve had–that packages arrive ripped open?

The story notes that happened with several of the body-part packages, so I wouldn’t be surprised. :-)

When I worked at Framestore, they sent me off to pick up a severed head from a university hospital for Harry Potter 2! My astoundingly camp boss made lewd comments about where I was off to, which amused me at the time, but now makes me cringe!

    Dear Ms. Hoak,

After four novels about me, I’ve written a book that tells the real story of my life. I haven’t found a publisher yet, but I’m told you’re an excellent copy editor, and I’d like to iron out some of the rough spots before I submit it to agents or editors. May I send you the manuscript to work on, as well as some “backup materials” so you’ll get the flavor of the story?

    Sincerely,

    Hannibal Lecter

Eww! The “flavor” of the story… LOL! Bad and very funny, Robert. :-)
