Dear Ms. Hoak,

After four novels about me, I've written a book that tells the real story of my life. I haven't found a publisher yet, but I'm told you're an excellent copy editor, and I'd like to iron out some of the rough spots before I submit it to agents or editors. May I send you the manuscript to work on, as well as some "backup materials" so you'll get the flavor of the story?

Sincerely,

Hannibal Lecter

When I worked at Framestore, they sent me off to pick up a severed head from a university hospital for Harry Potter 2! My astoundingly camp boss made lewd comments about where I was off to, which amused me at the time, but now makes me cringe!

Rose, have you had the same problem with DHL that I've had--that packages arrive ripped open?

The story notes that happened with several of the body-part packages, so I wouldn't be surprised. :-)

Yeah, I was laughing through the entire story, sadly.

"He started the second one, but stopped as soon as we saw the ear." :-D

I despise DHL. I despised them back when they were Airborne Express. This incident does not in the least surprise me, though the details are quite entertaining. "This is strange, it looks like a liver." Heh.
