Not enough hours
Published by Deanna Hoak April 13th, 2007 in blogI take a lot of pride in the fact that so many authors and editors value my work enough to request me, and I hate it when I have to turn them down. I didn’t get to take Cherie Priest’s latest earlier this year because I was working on Scott Lynch’s, and now I’ve had to turn down Josh Conviser’s latest because I’m working on one by Mike and Kathy Gear.
I enjoy the work of all those authors, though, so these aren’t the worst situations. Those are where you’re working on a book you hate and have to turn down one you’d love. Another good thing about having wonderful working relationships with editors and authors is that those situations don’t come along too often. :-)

Hi, Deanna.
My apologies. This is off your topic.
I saw something recently that I thought might be a leftover typesetting tag. Would you happen to know?
“The tavern had all but emptied for the [cf4]funeral; those left had for-
gotten their interest in her.”
I’d read _Ombria in Shadow_ after it came out; I’d like to think I noticed this before, but can’t be certain. :> Always read a library copy. I leave bookmarks and sticky notes in my own books when I notice such things.
Thank you!
- Anne
Hi, Anne. I haven’t seen that tag before. I’m not sure what it would be. :-/
