Why is the SFWA screw-up embarrassing?

Honestly. Do you have any idea what that does for SFWA in the eyes of the younger generation?

Oh, I have a perfect idea of what this looks like to the up and coming writers. I wouldn’t call myself younger, but I’m disgusted.
