Accepted into LaunchPad Astronomy Workshop

I just got word tonight that I am one of the twelve people accepted into the LaunchPad Workshop.

I am massively, unbelievably excited about this, as it will make me an even better SF copyeditor and will help me with my own fiction as well. I’ve taught myself a lot about the science behind SF, but the chance to learn with pros is going to be amazing.

And, of course, anyone who reads this blog at all knows that I’m crazy for anything astronomy related. :)

If you’re going, too, speak out! We should have an amazing week!

Have you met Mary Robinette Kowall? You are both lovely and talented and made of awesome and should be introduced if you haven’t. She has also been accepted to the workshop.

Oh, my! Starry Eyed Surprise, sundown to sunrise! This sounds like a blast (off) and I’m sure with so little Wyoming light pollution, you’ll easily see your way to Andromeda with no strain.

Don’t forget to take some pictures of the galaxies you visit and send us some picture post cards of the locals in our little solar neighborhood. Maybe I could even get you to chat about it on a talk show?

Sounds like you guys are going to have a great time. It’s nice country. Dress warm. You’ll be at high altitude at night. My oldest daughter spend some time near there last summer. Don’t be surprised if it’s below freezing some nights.
