Getting gusty
Published by Deanna Hoak August 19th, 2008 in blogThe wind is picking up here. It isn’t bad yet, but we’re supposed to have sustained winds of about 50 mph by 6, according to Florida Today. There’s a live stream beside that article from Cocoa Beach, just fifteen minutes from us, if you want to keep an eye on what things might look like out here. Also, here’s someone trying to kite surf in Fay, and damn near killing himself:
Once the storms have a name, they really aren’t the same as a regular storm anymore. Risk-takers beware. :P
Even though the winds are supposed to first hit us hard in a few hours, the National Hurricane Center shows the eye of the storm just off the coast beside us at 8 am tomorrow, so I suspect we’re in for a long night. :-)
