Blaine started fourth grade last Monday but only got in one day before Fay shut down school for the rest of the week. (We got about two feet of rain in three days with Fay.) Since Evan was supposed to start kindergarten on Thursday, his first day was delayed.
But he started today. Here are the two together in their uniforms:
And here’s Evan as seen through the school bus window:

Aww. I hope his first day is great.

Blaine already had a remarkable amount of poise for her age when I met her in ’04, but you can see in this picture the young woman she will become. Wow.
I hope Evan’s first day is great, too.
Thank you, Mris. Blaine’s amazing, and we’re incredibly lucky with her. I still need to post pics from the book she made at book camp this year and was going to put in a photo of her all dressed up, too. She loves fashion. :-)
Lovely!
So, the real question is: What are you going to do with the sudden free time with both kids out of the house?
I’m going to set up a time to write each day, work out more often, and look for a new challenge. :-)
And what did you do to celebrate or were you a little sad to see them growing up so fast?
I was sad. But I worked out, took a sunbath, cleaned house, and wrote a bit. :)
