If you have reservations for World Fantasy and find yourself unable to attend, please consider letting another attendee transfer the reservations to their own name and credit card first (they only need your confirmation number in order to do that). The main hotel is sold out, and any reservations that are canceled will not go back into the World Fantasy block, but will be sold under the regular rate, according to the reservations clerk I spoke with at the hotel. (The regular rate is $50 a night more, though the only rooms available now are at least $70 more.)
I know a lot of people reserve ahead even if they don’t know that they can make it to the con, so I thought I’d mention it.
And yes, I’m going, and someone has graciously let me transfer their room to my name. Since several authors have posted that perhaps I should be nominated for the professional award next year (something I’m incredibly touched by), I figured that it would be silly not to go. :-)

Sff.net has a World Fantasy bulletin board. You could try that. Also, I know John Klima was looking for a room. Have you tried him?
