*sigh* I just made a correction throughout an 800-page manuscript that was…well, the wrong correction. And I didn’t realize it till twenty pages from the end of my final read.
So…back through again to fix it. Damn I hate working with hard copy. :P

Could I ask what showed that it was a “wrong correction”? (Was it just a brain-o, or was it a weird usage that was part of the novel’s “flavor”?)
I feel your pain! I’ve done it numerous times myself. I often only discover it when I’ve finished the book and handed it in! arghhh! I completely goofed up the styling of numbered lists in a massive tome once, and thankfully, I was able to get the typesetter to fix it before it went back to the publisher in galleys (whew!).
