Cheryl Morgan saves the day

My blog went down yesterday when I tried to upgrade WordPress. :P The hosting company got it back up, and then the wonderful Cheryl Morgan stepped in and tweaked the settings, found a leftover spam hack hiding in an unused theme, cleaned everything up, saved me loads of server space, and generally saved the day just in time for my “Understanding Your Copyedited Manuscript” and “Copyediting, Illustrated” posts to be linked by Sarah Rees Brennan and generate me hundreds of hits. I love Cheryl.

Having those posts linked made me exceptionally happy, too, because they were truthfully some of the most work-intensive posts I’ve made. They’re extremely useful for first-time authors (you really should look at them if you anticipate going through first copyedits anytime soon), yet had not been linked much at all. So I’m doubly glad to have my blog running again.

The plugin for my contact page doesn’t want to interact well with the new WP, but I haven’t decided how best to deal with that yet. If you need to get hold of me, you can always drop me a note here, or my email is just my first name at my website.
