I’d love to see authors post an interesting portion from the style sheet of their latest book, as I did earlier this week for Josh Conviser’s Echelon. This could fall flat, because I know that some publishers don’t provide a copy of the style sheet for the author. :-) But! In case you do have one (or in case you want to go through and pull words out!), post some of the words you feel best exemplify your text, and let me know. I’ll link it here.

I get my copyedits back next week, and would totally post a portion of my style sheet then. So give me a week, and you shall have a most interesting list. :-)
I don’t have a style sheet or anything (or a copyeditor yet, though I hope hope hope they’ll ask you, and I’m asking them to ask you, though I’ve been warned they have little influence), but anyway, here are some of the words that exemplify my text:

I posted a copy of the style sheet I sent to my publisher in my journal a while back. (The title of the book has since changed, and is now Secret of the Three Treasures.)

This is where I realise how much of a newbie I am. I didn’t do a style sheet at all for VELLUM and I, um, sorta only just came across the idea in doing the proofs for the US edition so there isn’t one for INK (yet).
It is a neat meme though, in terms of a glimpse into the fictive world.
A style sheet is something the copyeditor should have prepared while copyediting; it’s not something you have to do yourself. Ask your publisher if you can have a copy! I’d love to see terms from yours. :-)
