I hate hate hate having to turn down books I really want to get to work on. It makes me very glum.

Me too…and I hate it even more when I’m piled up with work I’m not that enthusiastic about (such as the simply awful chick lit/soft porn novel I just got through copy editing) and have to turn down something cool.
But I’ve learned through bitter experience that it’s important not to overburden myself. If only I had a handy clone I could take out of cold storage for these times…
