I had to stop in a long line of cars yesterday to wait for a big gator to cross the road, out on the island’s main drag. I guess it got tired of the pond it was in and wanted a new one.
And then, out by our neighborhood pond, we had two roseate spoonbills, a great egret, and a wood stork (the bird that’s white with black trim). I unfortunately didn’t have my good camera for a picture, and you have to settle for these terrible pics I took with the little camera and zoomed up in Photoshop. The roseate spoonbills are gorgeous, startlingly pink birds, though, and I highly recommend you check out Google images of them.
I agree those spoonbills are very nice birds. I just posted an image of one today. Then thought I would look to see more on the net and found your page.
That’s a gorgeous photo you got of one. I wish I’d had a decent camera on me when I saw these. :-)
